For ages, natural gas cooking stoves and cooktops have been used by millions of people around the globe. From household to the restaurants to many others there has always been a heavy reliance on the use of natural gas for cooking purposes. When it comes to being economical this is perhaps the cheapest source of running your kitchen and firing up those giant commercial type stoves. As the technology moved a transition took place from the conventional to newly available alternatives the electrical type or induction type ranges. There are a number of reasons for this transition from gas type to other alternatives. One such reason for this transition is the health issues associated with the use of gas cooktops and cooking ranges. While using the gas cooktops or gas stoves you should be extremely careful. For one reason that the gas that we use for cooking purposes is extremely flammable. Any small leak can lead to some very serious disastrous which can cause a lot of damage. Therefore, for you to avoid this most obvious hazard of using gas cooktop, check all connections for leaking. Other than the leakage issue since gas is a petro product and like any other petro product when it burns it releases a lot of by-products in the environment. Some of these by-products are extremely dangerous for the environment as well as the members of you home. The biggest culprit that unleashed while using kitchen apparatus like gas cooktops or gas stoves is the release of carbon mono oxide. Carbon mono oxide is extremely hazardous and levels above acceptable levels can cause immediate death. Scientifically, anything above 70 PPM (parts per million) is not at all safe for humans. In some of the recent studies around the globe, levels as high as 170 ppm brought in casualties to the house kept pets in some cases. While cooking in your house, there is a great amount of CO and other hazardous by-products that you come in contact with. Think about yourself while cooking. As you lean over to take food out from the gas stove you breath in the cocktail of chemicals. Methane, radon and other radioactive materials, benzene, toluene, xylene, organometallic compounds such as methyl mercury organ arsenic and organ lead, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide and organic compounds like formaldehyde are all such evils that you come exposed with. Once you come in contact with extremely high levels of such chemicals, you should look for some symptoms. Nausea, head ache and in extreme cases loss of consciousness are some common symptoms. While you get exposed to extreme levels of CO immediate death is imminent. Therefore, we recommend a well ventilated kitchen. Always use the overhead vent on top of your cooktop for the immediate removal of these by-products. Also, avoid using stoves for heating up of your houses. If possible keep monitoring the CO levels in your house, especially in the area where you are using gas appliances. .
